Boxmodel in driving seat for growth after staff expansion

A software firm keeping transport operators on the move is plotting its own journey to further success after bolstering its workforce.

Boxmodel has increased its headcount nearly six-fold to more than 30 staff.

And boss Alan Easton says the expanded team will be central to the business’ next phase of development.

Based in The Core, on Newcastle’s Helix science park, Boxmodel creates software for businesses around the world, including Airbus and Royal IHC, with rising demand helping it achieve a five-year turnover target 12 months ahead of schedule.

Alan [pictured, above] said: “We have clients coming to us thinking it’s not possible to find a solution because they’ve been told that by other software businesses.

“But we always say, ‘let us decide the impossible’ and, to date, there hasn’t been anything we’ve not been able to do.

“IHC said we start where our competitors stop, and I think that’s right.

“The tougher the problem, the more we excel, and we are trusted by major global names as their technology partner,” said chief executive Alan, whose career in software engineering spans more than 20 years.

He added: “The vast majority of our work comes from existing clients, referrals or recommendation, because we do what we do exceptionally well.

“We are as good as anyone in the country, including London, but importantly, we can beat them on expertise, skillset, service and budget.

“We have grown our team to a level now where we can be working on several big projects consecutively, still with the capacity to take on more.

“The skill we have here is what really separates us.

“We have a team committed to solving problems and doing amazing things to make the ‘impossible’ possible for clients.”
