DS-CIC to hold ‘first-of-kind’ online safety conference

An online safety organisation is holding a “first-of-its-kind” conference focused on youngsters’ digital wellbeing.

The Castle Conference, hosted by the Digital Safety Community Interest Company (DS-CIC), takes place on Thursday, September 7.

Bosses say it will bring together professionals and experts to promote young people’s safety in the technological world.

DS-CIC is led by ex-senior policing figure Barbara Spooner, who is bringing three decades of experience to the fore in her new role.

“I am honoured to lead the charge in creating safer online activities for individuals across the globe,” said Barbara, who was previously awarded an MBE for contributions to leadership for women in law enforcement and services to covert intelligence operations.

She added: “I am deeply committed to leveraging my experience and expertise to combat harm in the digital realm.

“Together with the talented team at DS-CIC, I am confident we will make significant strides in making the internet a safer space for everyone.”

The Castle Conference will take place at Lambton Castle.
