Newcastle’s amBX signs partnership with €12 billion global energy leader

A light and software company is working with a €12 billion global energy leader.

amBX has partnered with Prysmian Group.

The alliance was forged through amBX’s office at Newcastle’s Hoults Yard, with the firm helping Prysmian find a solution for a new development.

The business, which employs almost 29,000 people across more than 50 countries, wanted a software platform to connect to its Power over Ethernet (PoE) emergency lighting, which could also provide control through a user interface in buildings.

amBX provided the graphical interface and the integration for Prysmian, with its software allowing it to sell an end-to-end solution to customers.

Jon Couch, amBX chief commercial officer, said: “We believe partnership and collaboration are key to achieving safe, energy-efficient buildings that successfully meet occupants’ needs.

“PoE is a great technology that can facilitate a plug-and-play, reliable solution that delivers actionable insights.”

Lyndsay Close, amBX’s marketing manager, who is based at Hoults Yard, added: “We’re very excited to be working with Prysmian Group; our vision and values are aligned.

“The emergency lighting solution is the initial focus of our partnership as the two companies feel it is a vital component that is all too often fitted and then forgotten about.”
