Sapere Software delivers operational boost to distribution firm AV Dawson

A digital firm is working with a distribution company to drive forward operational improvements.

Sapere Software is supporting third-generation operator AV Dawson.

The Stockton company has developed a web-based tool that enables the Port of Middlesbrough owner to manage projects in real-time.

The work was initially funded by the UK Community Renewal Fund through the Tees Valley Business Challenge, which is delivered by Edge Innovation on behalf of the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority.

A £5000 grant gave Sapere the opportunity to develop its concept and undertake feasibility studies, followed by £45,000 funding to make the prototype a reality.

Paul Drake, Sapere commercial director, said: “We were absolutely thrilled to have won the competition.

“And now we’ve created the software, we will work alongside AV Dawson to implement it across the business and develop it further.”

Neil Warren, AV Dawson’s head of IT, added: “We needed a solution that would allow the business to manage our strategic KPIs, as well as provide visibility on performance with the use of interactive dashboards and reports.

“Sapere has certainly provided us with that.”
