Sedgefield’s Kromek seals £2 million Ministry of Defence deal

A County Durham technology firm known for apparatus used to thwart terror plots has secured a £2 million deal.

Kromek will supply nuclear radiation detection equipment to the Ministry of Defence.

The agreement will see the Sedgefield-based company deliver its handheld gamma and neutron detector to military bosses.

The firm will also supply an Alpha Beta probe attachment, which Kromek says “significantly enhances” its gamma and neutron kit’s capability, “making it one of the most versatile handheld detectors available”.
