VEO secures three year deal with the University of Sunderland
February 27, 2019
Innovative video learning specialists, VEO Group, have signed a three-year licence agreement with the University of Sunderland that will see VEO’s video tagging software used across all areas of the University.
The deal – commencing in early 2019 – builds on initial work with the Health, Paramedic and Clinical Sciences department that saw student pass rates soar in practical skills courses.
The deal will see all faculties throughout the University of Sunderland utilise VEO’s video tagging platform to enhance learning and professional development for 20,000 students across all courses and programmes.
Speaking of the agreement VEO co-founder and CEO, Paul Miller, said: “Since the company’s inception in 2015 we have been helping world-class organisations deliver transformational professional learning experiences, providing clear visibility on learning for students and lecturers alike.
“We now work with over 20 top class Universities globally and we’re excited to be strengthening our relationship with a forward-thinking, local institution that matches our strong commitment to enhancing student experience and learning through innovation.
“VEO has been trialled successfully across the University’s Paramedic Science and Clinical courses, giving students timely feedback on their professional skills as they develop. I am delighted it will be available across all areas of the University. By embracing the innovation VEO brings, we’re confident that staff and students will notice tangible results.”
During the initial work with the Health, Paramedic and Clinical Sciences Faculty, students used VEO’s unique video tagging system to align evidence of their practice to key competences required for their future work. The customisable tags can be tailored to any framework and VEO is supporting learning in diverse fields from corporate and leadership to teacher training.
Speaking about the successful transition of VEO into the healthcare faculty, Mark Willis, programme lead added: “It really complements the high standard of learning facilities available to Sunderland University students. VEO has been extremely effective helping transition students from learners to expert in their chosen fields and gives us a fantastically simple way to evidence and improve competence across the full range of required skills.
“This very much fits with our drive to support smooth student progress into their career paths, building visibility and efficiency into our delivery. We’re looking forward to working with the VEO team to roll out this innovative technology to all our students.”
