‘Stay vigilant’ – UK Commercial Group boss makes post-pandemic plea

A facilities management firm boss has warned companies not to become complacent with infection control in the post-pandemic era.

Tony Earnshaw says businesses must remain vigilant around the “ongoing threats of superbugs and other diseases”.

The UK Commercial Group managing director’s Gateshead company was honoured at the 2022 England’s Business Awards grand final for its COVID-19 support, which included providing PPE survival packages, creating decontamination teams for care homes and donating free hand gel to NHS staff.

And he says such efforts should not go to waste as society readjusts.

He said: “The pandemic accelerated the need for companies to invest in commercial cleaning services, and we worked closely with them providing guidance, support and materials.

“And although it appears the pandemic has largely faded away, there clearly remain ongoing threats of superbugs and other diseases, which mean hygienic premises remain a crucial requirement.”
