Sedgefield’s Kromek Group picks up £1.5 million security orders
December 14, 2022
A technology firm behind kit used to foil terror plots has secured two contracts worth a combined £1.5 million.
Sedgefield-based Kromek Group is supplying nuclear security products to “European government end-users”.
Its nuclear apparatus suite helps identify bombing threats, the illicit movement of materials and accidents, with its wearable D3M-branded detector having been designed to constantly scan for radiation dangers.
Dr Arnab Basu, chief executive [pictured, above], said: “As governments reconsider how they can best provide for the safety and security of their people in the face of current geopolitical tension, demand for our nuclear radiation detection technology continues to be strong.
“These orders further validate the strength of our offer.”
